THE VALUE OF THE ROSARY

May is a Marian month.  Mary intercedes for us with her Son, Jesus.  Let us honour our Blessed Mother especially with recitation of the Rosary.  Pope John Paul II wrote: “The Rosary is my favourite prayer.  Such a wonderful prayer!  Wonderful in its simplicity and its depth.  In this Prayer we repeat the words that the Virgin Mary heard from the Archangel and from her cousin Elizabeth.  The Church in its entirety associates itself with these words.  On the background of the words ‘Ave Maria’ the soul visualizes the main events in the life of Jesus Christ…  A prayer so simple and so rich.  From my deepest heart I exhort all to recite it.” Pray the Rosary Daily pamphlets are available on the windowsills at the back of the Church.

SYNOD – JOURNEY TOGETHER

Our Holy Father, Pope Francis invites us: “Let’s walk together as a Church with the Holy Spirit.” The Archdiocese of Montreal responds to Our Holy Father by engaging everyone to join the mission: “In Jesus Christ, let us build a living Church that allows itself to be evangelical, is welcoming and close to the people.” In Saint Edmund of Canterbury parish, how are we announcing the Gospel and “journeying together” today? What steps does the Holy Spirit invite us to take to grow our “journeying together”?

Everyone in the Saint Edmund of Canterbury parish community is invited to participate – to pray and draw inspiration from the Gospel and from each other.

What is involved? We invite you to commit to a one-time, two-hour session to explore these themes in small groups of 5-7 people facilitated by trained parishioners and share the findings with other small groups present at our assemblies. Each session involves prayer, private meditation, sharing and listening. For our parishioners’ convenience, multiple daytime and evening sessions have been scheduled between May 15th and June 12th, 2022. Meetings will be held in the Saint Edmund of Canterbury Parish Hall.

Please come and journey together! To register, go to https://stedocp.com or for more information, contact the Parish Office at 514-695-7100 or email synod@stedocp.com.

PRAYING TOGETHER FOR THE SYNODAL PROCESS

We invite all parishioners in evoking St. Edmund of Canterbury, our patron saint, as we strengthen the mission of our parish as we go through the synodal process. We ask that that you add ‘St. Edmund
