WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY
The Week of Pray for Christian Unity is celebrated around the world from January 18th to 25th. The 2023 theme of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, chosen by the Minnesota Council of Churches (USA), is “Do good; seek justice.” Based on Isaiah 1:12-17, the international theme calls Christians to recognize that the divisions between our churches and confessions cannot be separated from the divisions within the wider human family. Isaiah challenged God’s people in his day to learn to do good together; to seek justice together, to rescue the oppressed together, to defend the orphan and plead for the widow together. The prophet’s challenge applies equally to us today. How can we live our unity as Christians so as to confront the evils and injustices of our time? How can we engage in dialogue, increase awareness, understanding and insight about one another’s lived experiences? – From Introduction to the Theme of the Year 2023
2023 OFFERING ENVELOPES
If you have not picked up your 2023 offering envelopes, they are available on the east windowsill in the Church. If you have not used envelopes in the past, please take an unmarked box and return the included form to register. We ask that you not use offering envelopes from previous years, this would greatly help with the processing of the envelopes.

ADULT CAFÉ – PARENTING AND COMMUNICATION
Parenting is a full-time job! Raising happy, mature, and generous people involves bonding and communicating. This CAFE is for you if you wish to consider valuable ways of improving your communication with your children and teenagers. Come meet other parents who are already doing a great job (… just like you!) and who believe that we can benefit from each others’ experience. The presentation given by AMCAL Family Services will be followed by a question period. The CAFE will be held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday January 11th (7-9pm). Please call Faith Education Office at 514-695-6697 to sign up. Feel free to send an email to faitheducation@stedocp.com if you have any questions.
SENIORS OF SAINT EDMUND’S
Would you be interested in organizing an activity program for the seniors of our parish? Please join us for a brainstorming session on Wednesday, January 18th at 10am in the Parish Hall. Please call Vivian at 514-795-8507 to register.
CALL TO MAKE SAINT EDMUND’S WEEKEND MASSES EXTRA SPECIAL
Our weekend Masses are of great importance because that’s when we most often encounter Jesus Christ in community at Saint Edmund’s. We are all called to make God’s message matter in word and in action. We are actively looking for:
– Lectors: The Word of God has the power to change people, and your voice can serve as the instrument to bring God’s word to the community.
– Sunday Coffee Hour Hosts: to serve coffee, juice and cookies, but more importantly create an environment for easy and accessible fellowship for as many people as possible.
Do you feel called? Please contact Cris at cxkcxk1965@gmail.com to sign up.
