PAPAL INTENTION FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST

NEW MEMBERS TO OUR CATHOLIC COMMUNITY

We are pleased to welcome Ava Caputo, Antonio Gervasi, Maximilian Lawrence Lashley, Giacomo Liam Petroro, Maya Alexandra Quinn and Isabella Urrego who were baptized in the Parish during the month of July.

PARISH B.B.Q. – SEPTEMBER 11thFood, fun and community spirit!

St. Edmund’s Annual Parish BBQ returns on Sunday, September 11th starting with the Celebration of Mass by Father Jess at 11am, followed by the B.B.Q. at noon. Children’s activities are planned. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips & refreshments will be served. Tickets are $5 per person or $20 per family and will be available after weekend Masses starting August 20th and at the Parish Office during office hours as of Monday, August 22nd. Make sure you buy your tickets in advance. Please bring your lawn chairs. ALL ARE WELCOME! We would welcome the loan of portable canopies to shade our helpers from the sun. We are also looking for volunteers to help at the event, including students looking for community service hours. WE NEED YOU! If interested, please contact Vivian at 514-795-8507. (In case of rain, the event will be postponed to Sunday, September 25th.

CHILDREN’S FAITH EDUCATION

Registration for catechism and preparation for the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation will be held in-person on the weekends of September 10th & 11th and September 17th & 18th at the Parish Office after the Saturday 5pm and Sunday 9am Masses, and before the Sunday 11am Mass.  Fee for the program is $90, payable by cash, cheque, debit, or credit.

SOCIAL ACTION

Part of our Social Action activities include helping the CLSC Lachine/LaSalle and Dorval/Lachine baby layette programs. We are asking for donations of baby clothes aged 0 to 6 months as well as blankets and sweaters that knitters or crocheters would like to provide. This permits the Social Action fund to use the monetary donations to go further. We appreciate any help with these items, and they can be placed at the back of the church when attending any Mass.

BACKUP TO OFFICE SECRETARIES

We are looking for an individual who would be available to replace our parish secretaries as needed.  If you are interested, please call the Parish Office at 514-695-7100 for more information.

  • Take one minute to be quiet
  • Take one minute to thank God for something you enjoy
  • Take one minute to say sorry for something you regret
  • Take one minute to pray for another person
